Night Rains

The new collection of poetry from Stephen Brooke, NIGHT RAINS, will be officially released on April 21, 2026. This is both the writer's birthday and appropriate to 'National Poetry Month.' We have attempted to release collections on this date the past couple years. Here's the official blurb:

To linger in forbidden gardens,
dream beneath the black rose tree,
to play the tunes for fairy dances
  through all night’s eternity,
I seek those distant ebon towers,
  stark beside a shadowed sea
where misted perfumes of the darkness
  rise in writhing ecstasy.

Visit lands both real and imagined — though who is to say which is which? —  in Stephen Brooke’s collection of poems, NIGHT RAINS.

And here is the cover:

The book will be available from Arachis Press (arachispress.com) in print or as free ebooks.

Night Rains Coming

We have chosen the poems (seventy-nine of them) and are working on the layout and formatting of the next Stephen Brooke poetry collection, to be titled NIGHT RAINS. As in years past, we have an April 21 release date (SB's birthday) set. More information when we have some.

Counting Words Coming

We have decided not to hold the new poetry collection, 'Counting Words,' until next year, as originally intended. The release date now (and this is fairly solid) is October 25. More news, cover reveal, and so on to come in a bit (once 'The City and the Sword' is out). 'Counting Words' is a collection of poems with an emphasis on language and its uses, both serious and for play.
